CLASSICAL DRESSAGE. CLOSING FOUNDATIONS
- Isaac Ares
This series was never meant to be a manual.
And it was never meant to replace study, practice, or lived experience.
It was created for one reason only. To establish reference points.Because without reference points, everything looks correct. And when everything looks correct, nothing can truly be evaluated.
These Foundations were not instructions.
They were invitations to observe more carefully.
Throughout these posts, one idea has quietly repeated itself:
The HORSE is not SOMETHING to be PLACED.
Movement is not something to be manufactured.
Balance is not something to be forced.
When posture is produced before balance exists, the image may appear impressive, but the organization underneath remains fragile.
TRUE training does NOT IMPOSE shapes.
It develops the conditions in which shape becomes the consequence of balance.
There is a difference between controlling movementand educating balance.
One creates obedience.
The other creates longevity.
One depends on visible results.
The other depends on invisible organization.
The difference is subtle. But once seen, it cannot be unseen.
Good training begins when the rider understandswhy something happens, not only how to make it happen.
From that point forward, each rider is free:
To follow tradition.
To follow science.
To question both.
To refine their own path.
Knowledge does not dictate action.
It clarifies perception.
And when perception becomes clear, the horse no longer needs to defend itself.
This was never about techniques.
It was about awareness.
If these Foundations have sharpened your eye, slowed your hands,or deepened your questions, then they have fulfilled their purpose.
The rest is responsibility.
For the horses
