WE STARTED AT THE END

WE STARTED AT THE END

  • Isaac Ares

We began by analysing elite horses because I believe that before we can learn how to train correctly, we must first learn how to observe. For years, I have watched riders admire spectacular movements without fully understanding what is actually happening inside the horse’s body.

"That is why we began by studying compensatory patterns".

When the back ceases to transmit correctly, when the neck starts taking on functions that do not belong to it, or when the hindquarters fail to organise movement effectively, physical and psychological adaptations inevitably begin to appear. Once we learn to recognise these patterns, we can begin to understand the origins of many problems now considered normal.

Joint injections and repeated treatments have become normalised. Horses continue to work despite discomfort or physical limitations. Even signs of physical and emotional tension have become accepted as normal when they should encourage us to stop and reflect.

Now it is time to change perspective.

From this point onwards, we will begin the journey from the very beginning, where we will discuss, analyse and study every aspect of horsemanship, from the newly started young horse to the top competition horse.

To produce horses that are physically healthier, psychologically more stable, and capable of remaining sound, functional and willing to work for many years.
